Olice is crawling

As of June 30th, Olice can crawl. Then July 3rd he started eatin' cheerios. He is making a hilarious scrunching up his nose face. He is changing so so fast right now!! Just thought y'all would enjoy an update. I can't keep up with him! Love y'all!

Siding and Shingles!

Hey Everyone! These are the latest pictures as of Monday afternoon. We have started siding and the roofers came today to put on the shingles. Also, the dormer is on with its window in now. Very exciting!

Windows and Roof

These pictures are from the week of June 7th. I'll post some more updates soon.

Mountain weekend and House picture

Todd and I had a wonderful time in the mountains last weekend. And when we came home, our house was still standing. here is an updated picture of the house. This week and next are all subs, so we probably won't have a lot of pictures to show the electrical and plumbing. But drywall will probably be going in two weeks and they will start siding soon. Love ya'll!

'Three Wee Kings' in June

I guess I'd better post some pictures of the grands. I may not get much chance after GM and GD get here - although we'll be sure to take more pictures with them. In any case, we're hoping that Olice and Daniel can have a crawling race before the week's over. Yeh, right! Garrison can be the referee.

Ken Says Goodbye to Fritz!

I know all the Baker's are still in shock over it but Ken did indeed part with 'Fritz' yesterday - his 1984 Mercedes car friend which has been in the family for the last 21 years!! More unbelievable is that he actually got some money for Fritz!! Of course the replacement car had to be pretty awesome (and the right price) in order for this to happen and here you have pictures of it - a 2000 model year E320 Mercedes in a color called Smoke Silver (though it looks more like champagne). The interior is tan leather and the car only had 47,000 miles on it! Though this car is nearly 7 years old, it looks, rides and smells like brand new. What a treat it will be to take it to Virginia today to pick up Grandma and Grandpa - and to see their faces. Wonder how many negatives they will find. Hee Hee. I for one am very proud of Pops. Love, Oma
P.S. I'm even prouder that KAB Tech has not bought a replacement truck yet (for non-family readers, our beautiful F350 was stolen and stripped about a month ago). Thomas' truck was used a couple of times as well as rental trucks for about 3 weeks. We hope to be able to manage without 'Big Red' as we wind into retirement.

The Rest of the Pics

These wouldn't blog onto the other post. Operator error, I think!

A Very Memorable Memorial Day

This was definitely a memorable day for Danielle and Will (and us, too). The happy homeowners are going to get to sleep in their own place tonight!! While the young people moved the furniture, Oma and Pops moved baby Olice around the house - and cooked beef barbeque, fumi salad, garden bean salad and 2 cakes - tropical carrot and chocolate zucchini! In any case, Olice and Will had a staring down competition which ended in O getting his first beer from this understanding uncle. Jane came over for a while (as usual) and hugged her adopted nephew to sleep!

I'm still waiting on house pictures but will let Danielle blog them herself! Hope the West Coasters had a great Memorial Day, too! Love, Oma

Here They Go!

Like Danielle said, she's 24 years old and she's leaving home again. (And just in time for Erika, Bryan and kids to sleep in her bed late Wednesday night.) Can't wait to share pics of the truck, etc. and their new home as they get their furniture in!!

One Wall, Two Walls, Three Walls, FOUR!!

So, I still can't seem to post pictures in the ORDER that I want them. Oh well. At any rate, you can see that we now have all four exterior walls up! Yeah! Tomorrow we'll be putting in the interior walls so that next week we can start on the roof. The roof may take a little longer than expected simply because our house is now so tall. Please pray for safety for all the guys up there working (Todd, Jeremy, Scott and Matt). We will keep you posted with more next week!

Fixin', Fixin', Fixin'

Progress pictures of Danielle and Will's place getting paint everywhere (especially the kitchen) and new walls (and tile later) in the master bath. By the way, does everyone know that Danielle and Schelyn both picked out the very same color of paint - Cookie Crumb! How odd is that? It's the color behind the rooster. D, this bird needs a name!

Olice can Sit!

Olice first sat on his own almost two weeks ago (May 7th for the first time). Now he can do it long after we've had time for a picture or two. I don't know if this is really gonna work on not? I tried to upload a picture for y'all.

It's more than a ripple now, girls

Don't you think she is getting a little bigger? :)

An easy, get the job done recipe

Tex Mex Ravioli Casserole
1 (16 oz.) jar mild salsa
1 (10 3/4) can tomato puree
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1 (28 oz.) bag frozen cheese ravioli, do not thaw
2 (19 oz.) cans black beans, drained and rinsed
1 bunch green onions, thinly sliced
1/2 c. fresh chopping cilantro (or parsley)
2c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1c. shredded monterey jack cheese.

Combine first three ingredients. Pour 1/2 cup sauce mixture on the bottom of a lightly greased 9x13 dish. Top evenly with frozen cheese ravioli. Layer with black beans, chopped cilantro, green onions and remaining sauce mixture; top evenly with shredded cheeses.
Bake covered with aluminum foil for 45 minutes at 350 or until bubbly. Remove foil, and bake 5 more minutes uncovered.
